ABeam Consulting to Offer Global Warming Policy Support Services

Partnering with Energetics Pty. Ltd. to Deliver "Continuous improvement in business practices for energy and carbon management"

TOKYO, JAPAN – May 12, 2008 – ABeam Consulting, a leading global provider of operational consulting services, has announced a partnership with Energetics Pty. Ltd. of Australia to provide Japanese companies with Corporate Energy/Carbon Management support services. ABeam and Energetics will deliver a comprehensive services offering, focused at top corporate level – ranging from corporate strategy and planning to information management and greenhouse/ sustainability management services (including CSR reporting).

These services respond to the needs of major businesses in Japan and around the world to more effectively manage energy use and carbon emissions.

Revisions to laws governing energy use and conservation are under consideration in Japan and around the world that will change reporting standards and other controls for many corporations. This is placing increased demands for effective and verifiable information management for energy and carbon. ABeam, with Energetics technology and support, can offer this service for Japanese businesses.

Carbon emissions caps, and carbon trading is also being considered nationally and regionally. For example, the municipal government of Tokyo is currently considering strengthening laws mandating a greenhouse gas emissions trading system within city limits.

Global warming countermeasures are thus expected to become a major management issue for businesses in the coming years, making it necessary for top management to strengthen their efforts in this area.

ABeam plans to extend its new Carbon Management service menu to cover a comprehensive service to support greenhouse gas emissions reduction, renewable energy use and carbon trading and offsets/CDM application.
