Senior Data Conversion Consultant

Job Description

Provide consulting services for implementation, testing development, maintenance and enhancement of software packages and applications by utilizing software and accompanying development tools and environments
Assist in formulating and defining computer information system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems tailored to clients’ management requirements
Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written
Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation

Qualifications

Experience doing SAP data loads, migration, testing
Familiarity with SAP data tools such as LSMW/CAAT, SAP AFS
Familiarity with ABAP
Experience doing SAP data loads/migrations for PP, MM, SD, FI, CO, LE
Familiar with data pre-loading utilities (some common utilities such as Microsoft Access/Excel)
Experience providing consulting advice on data migration strategies, data cleansing, data management strategies, data security
Experience with double byte data conversions/migration (includes cleansing, testing, load testing and loads)
Experience with SAP data structure, data models, data schemas
Bilingual (English and Mandarin) – needs to be able to articulate issues and solutions in English
Ability to facilitate discussions and meetings
Experience with roll-out/template-based implementations

Senior SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description The Consultant will provide BASIS application administration support to the Process Teams including ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning and upgrade management. The individual will help manage the day to day activities from a support and maintenance perspective. The individual will ensure that the production environment running SAP applications is stable. He or she will design, develop, test and debug, and implement complex SAP operating components, software tools, and utilities required for the operation, maintenance, and control of the current and future Global SAP computer systems.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures a stable and functional production environment
Provides support services in the administration of SAP (R/3, ECC6, BI/BW, XI, Solution Manager, Portals and PLM) related activities
Provides SAP BASIS support including patches and fixes and performance monitoring activities
Troubleshoots system problems (both SAP and non-SAP)
Supports the planning and execution of SAP version upgrades from a technical aspect
Participates with the Network Management group in providing SAP-related hardware specifications
Participates with the Operating System group in providing SAP-related hardware specifications
Works with the Technology Teams and Process Teams in the execution of stress testing, including identifying requirements and creating test scripts
Works with the Technology Teams to conduct tuning
Participates within a team that provides 7x24 support (on-call)
Utilizes the Project Management methodology in the development and delivery of all work requests

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in SAP infrastructure components or equivalent computing infrastructure
Familiarity with at least 2 OS platforms: Win/AIX/HP-UX/Solaris/Linux
Familiarity with at least 2 DB: MS-SQL/Oracle/DB2/MaxDB
Demonstrated project management skills
3-5 years of Basis experience
3-5 years of System design/development
2-4 years Database administration experience
2-4 years System administration experience
1-3 years of Database administration is preferred
Multiple SAP system experience (R/3, ECC6, BI/BW, SAP Upgrade, Data Archiving… etc.) is preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience required

Qualifications

Specialized in or equivalently experienced in at least one the following areas: Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Corporate Planning, Business Planning, IT Strategy and Planning, Internal Control etc. Experience in business process re-engineering or analysis is also acceptable.
Good interpersonal skills, communication skills.
