To minimise the threat and risk of terrorist attacks, the World Customs Organisation (WCO) has recently announced a global legal framework for supply chain security. These changes now mandate Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) / Zugelassener Wirtschaftsbeteiligter (ZWB) certification, electronic customs clearance, pre-advice of all import/ export transactions, as well as Single European Authorisation (SEA).
